Isaac's primary teacher told me that a couple of weeks ago, as the children were preparing for the primary program, they were singing "I Will Follow God's Plan For Me." Well, Isaac cannot pronounce his "L"s yet, so the boy sitting next to him turned to the teacher and asked "Why is Isaac singing "my wife is a gift, my wife has a plan?" I found this hysterical. Erik should practice singing this!
I asked Isaac what he did at school the other day.
Isaac: I had a staring contest.
Me: A staring contest? With whom?
Isaac: With everyone. I just stared at everyone all day. I didn't eat lunch. I didn't eat breakfast. I just stared.
I asked Isaac to tell me the names of some of his friends from school, as I don't often get a lot of specifics from him. He told me a couple of boys names, and then added "Alina" is my friend. At which point, Ezra jumped up and yelled "Angelina? Angelina is my girlfriend." Oh goodness. Not ready for that to start up yet!
A couple of weeks ago:
Ezra: Mom, "Mi mama es bonita" means "My mama is pretty" in Spanish.
Isaac (randomly from the other side of the room): Alina is pretty. . .
Ezra: Mom, "extremo" means bum in Spanish. Mi mama es una extremo.
I'm not so sure the Spanish program is really going to be good for this kid. Especially if every word he learns is applied to me in some form!
In primary, the primary president gave the children invitations to hand out to their friends, inviting them to the primary program. Both Ginny and Ezra invited a friend, and Ginny's friend actually came today, with her parents. It was a wonderful experience having them there, and I hope they thought so, too.
Ginny was "sick" at home the other day, and decided to use her time to make hearts to distribute to all of the neighbors on our floor. I was a little hesitant to let her leave hearts that said "Love, Ginny" on our neighbor's doors, but I decided to allow it. I received so much feedback from our neighbors about how much they appreciated Ginny's gesture, and how much they all admire Ginny for being so friendly. Ginny even received a thank you note from one of our neighbors. Some of these neighbors are people I've never even spoken to before. Ginny is teaching me all sorts of great lessons about overcoming shyness, and letting our lights shine. :)
