1) The other night we were talking about how Uncle Mark is getting married soon.
Isaac then asked me and Erik how old we were when we got married. When we told him 23, he exclaimed "23?!?! That's too young to get married!"
The way he said it cracked me up! He must have been talking to his Grandma Lindstrom, because that's what she used to tell me and Erik back when we were dating. :)
2) Another day, while Ginny and Ezra were at their basketball clinic, Isaac and I were heading to the bakery. Isaac decided I was going the wrong way (because it wasn't the way he'd gone with his dad the week before), and started giving me directions. To tease him, I said "Isaac, maybe we aren't going to the bakery. Maybe we're going somewhere else that I'd rather go."
He responded in his most serious mommy-voice, "Mommy, it's only three blocks. You'll survive."
It was so funny because it was an almost perfect imitation of me. I say that very thing to him (with various numbers) all the time!
3) This one isn't funny, as much as it just exasperating. Last night, while he was supposed to be getting into pajamas, he peeked his little head out the door and said "Mom, I went potty in the toilet."
I was kind of taken aback since it was very out of the blue, and he's been potty trained for quite a while now, so I said "That's good Isaac. That's where you should go potty."
At that point, Erik walked by and Isaac looked at him and forcefully insisted "I went potty in the toilet, daddy!"
His insistence raised my suspicions, so I asked him "Isaac, did you miss the toilet?" and he responded that he had maybe dripped a little on his socks. But the look on his face told both me and Erik that he was lying his little pants off.
Erik proceeded into the bedroom to check the damage, and Isaac gave in and shame-facedly confessed that he had, in fact, gone potty on his bedroom carpet. That little stinker!

Funny Isaac
Halloween 2017
Ginny decided to be a generic Hogwarts student for Halloween. Ezra was Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. And Isaac went as Catboy from PJ Masks.

Isaac's 5th Birthday!
Isaac had a great 5th birthday! He couldn't wait to open his presents, so, softie that I am, I let him open half of them before school. (I know he has no shirt on. Honestly, we're lucky he's even wearing pants in this picture. More often than not, he just insists on sleeping in his underwear. He is just more comfortable in his own skin!)

Ginny's Baptism
Ginny was baptized in September, and we were so blessed to have many members of the family come to support her. All of her grandparents were able to come, along with several of her New York relatives, and Uncle Brad and Aunt Rachel with Kate and Lizzie.
Erik did the baptizing and confirming, and Ginny's grandpas were the witnesses. Her Grandma Lindstrom gave a talk on baptism, and her Grandma Call gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. After the confirmation, we had refreshments in the church gym. Ginny requested a cookie bar, and Erik requested some veggie trays, so we had both!

Utah 2017
We love spending our summers in Utah with our families! Here are some of the highlights:
We joined Loralee, Joy, and Susan at their neighborhood night out with the police department, and Ezra got to try his hand at the climbing wall.
We celebrated Ginny's birthday Harry Potter-themed birthday party!
Before we headed back to my parents, we wandered around temple square a bit. Happy 10 Years Erik!!!
Some Utah hiking (Ginny wasn't thrilled, although she looks happy enough in this picture. We probably told her we were turning back right around this point!)
Traditional summer trip to the Hogle Zoo with our traditional cousin picture!
Ivan decided to help my mom with her canning!
After the birthday party, we went with Kaylyn and her kids to see the local quilt show!

G and G Lindstrom, and Aunt Mari and Uncle Leighton took the kids mini-golfing, too. They loved it! Ezra was especially fascinated with where the ball went when it disappeared at the end.
Between hiking, swimming lessons, celebrating birthdays, enjoying tons of cousin time, getting to see Kirstin and Johnny and their new baby (Frances), dates with grandparents, watching Dr Who and the Flash and Fantastic Beasts with my favorite littlest sister, shopping with my older sisters, visiting Grandma Keeley and Becky and getting to spend a kid-less weekend with Erik, watching the eclipse with Mike and Brookeh and getting to see their classrooms, visiting with my old high school friends, cousin book club and seeing many of my favorite relatives (including visiting the Garden Center one last time), and everything else we got to do, we had such a great summer. The kids and I are already counting down to our trip out to Utah next summer!!!
